The drought tolerant, Columnar Oak offers a great windbreak for any yard. It grows in an elongated oval shape. They produce acorns and the leaves turn yellow in the fall. Although deciduous, oak trees hold onto their leaves and acorns through a phenomenon called marcescence. They have a life span of over 1,000 years.
